A short, plain summary of the rules for using PropertyBW. By signing in as an agent or using the site you agree to them.
PropertyBW is an online marketplace where agents and property owners in Botswana publish listings for buyers and renters to find. We provide the website. We are not an estate agent, we do not take part in any sale or rental, and we do not handle payments, deposits or contracts.
Agents sign in with a Google account to create a profile. That is not a check of who they are, whether they are licensed, or whether they have the right to sell or let a property. We do not inspect properties or confirm that photos, prices or descriptions are accurate. Treat every listing as the agent's own statement.
If you publish a listing you are responsible for it. You confirm that you are entitled to advertise the property, that the details, price and availability are accurate and kept up to date, that you own or may use every photograph you upload, and that you follow the law that applies to you, including any licensing or registration needed to act as an agent. Remove or mark a listing as sold or rented when it is no longer available. Do not post fake, duplicate or misleading listings, other people's property without permission, or anything unlawful, abusive or discriminatory.
Do not include other people's personal information in listings. Uploaded photos are resized and have their embedded location and camera data removed on upload, but check what is visible in the picture itself, such as number plates, documents and faces. Listings, photos and the contact details you choose to show are public.
Do your own checks. Meet the agent, view the property, and confirm ownership and the agent's credentials before you commit. Be cautious about any request to pay a deposit or fee before you have seen the property, or to pay into an account you cannot confirm. PropertyBW does not receive money for any property.
Every listing page has a Report this listing link. Use it for suspicious, misleading, duplicate, unavailable or inappropriate listings. We review reports but cannot promise to respond to each one or to investigate every claim.
We may unpublish a listing, stop a listing from being republished, or suspend an agent's account, with or without notice, if we think these terms are broken, a listing is misleading or unlawful, or to protect other users. A suspended agent cannot create, change or publish listings. We keep a record of these decisions.
PropertyBW is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from a listing, an agent, a transaction or anything you do because of information on the site.
How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy page. We may update these terms; using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
